Galaxy Note finally coming to Australia

15/03/2012

Six months after the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note, people in Australia are finally able to get their hands on the device.

Optus, Telstra and Vodafone will be offering the Android smart mobile phone and it will be available for purchase from $899.

Such is the delay in people being able to get hold of the Note in Australia, the firm released a newer version of the device at the recent Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona.

Customers of Optus and Vodafone will be able to buy the Galaxy Note as part of a new contract from this week, while Telstra has stated it will be holding the release of the handset until next month.

The device is equipped with a large 5.3-inch display and earned the nickname "phablet" as it tries to bridge the gap between mobile phones and tablets.

It also comes with a digitiser stylus with the handset, allowing for users to draw on the touchscreen.
