Google Android will be overtaken by Windows Phone
27/06/2012
Google Android is currently the dominant operating system (OS) in the world with over half of the market share, with Apple's iOS following behind.
One of the OS's that is looking to make a real move in the next couple of years is Microsoft's Windows Phone and independent software development consultant and author Matthew Baxter-Reynolds thinks it will.
Mr Baxter-Reynolds said there is a big difference between Google Android and Windows Phone as the search giant has virtually no mindshare, while that is not the case with Microsoft's OS.
Editor of Smartphoneblogging.com Shahpur Azizpour recently stated that the marriage between Nokia and Microsoft would stand both firms in good stead in the long term.
"If you talk to someone who has an Android phone, they don't know they have an Android phone, they will say they have a HTC or Samsung phone. That is going to hurt Google," Mr Baxter-Reynolds added.
