Mobile phone recycling: Qantas to provide iPads for customers
Qantas passengers on the airline's 767 planes will be travelling in style soon as the company confirmed it would be providing iPads for people's in-flight entertainment.
Both business and economy classes will be handed iPads on board, which they will be able to use to access more than 200 hours of entertainment programs.
The first aircraft to have the technology installed is set to be rolled out in the fourth quarter of this year and will be made available predominantly on domestic east coast routes.
This move comes after it was revealed earlier this year that customers are opposed to having mobile phones on flights in the country.
Chief executive officer of Qantas Domestic Lyell Strambi said the service would be available free of charge to customers.
"Our customers were the first in the world to experience the ground-breaking Wi-Fi entertainment technology and we received great feedback from our customers during the trial this year," he continued.
