Nokia and Microsoft can 'make partnership work'
02/05/2012
Nokia took a huge gamble last year to abandon its own operating system (OS) Symbian in favour of moving forward with Microsoft's Windows Phone.
It hasn't immediately provided rewards for the Finnish company as it has continued to struggle to deal with the increasing power of the likes of Samsung, Apple and HTC.
Nokia was even usurped at the top of the global mobile phone shipments market by Samsung last month, which is the first time this has happened for 14 years.
The release of Nokia's latest Lumia mobile phone was expected to bring the Finnish firm back to the top table, however, software problems have set the device back.
Editor of Smartphoneblogging.com Shahpur Azizpour is confident that Nokia and Microsoft will make the partnership work.
"At the moment, there doesn't seem to be big momentum for Windows Phone generally, but Microsoft is very committed to getting back into the mobile business," he added.
