Nokia releases new low budget mobile phones
Nokia yesterday (May 15th) announced the launch of two new budget mobile phones - the Nokia 111 and 113.
The devices are being marketed as social networking handsets on which people can keep abreast of all their various accounts or sites at the touch of a button.
They will also make mobile internet faster and more affordable for consumers, which comes in the form of its Nokia Browser. This compresses websites to ensure people consume up to 90 per cent less data.
Facebook and Twitter will be incorporated on to the front page of both devices for ease of access.
In March, the Finnish company announced it would be focusing its attentions on budget mobile phones to win back some of the faith lost by investors during the last 12 months.
CCS Insight analyst Geoff Blaber said of the new handsets: "These products are critical for Nokia to maintain traction in the face of mounting competition from Samsung and the Chinese rivals."
