O2 boosts Nokia 5220 tariff
15/09/2009
Consumers recycling mobile phones for a handset like the Nokia 5220 may be tempted by the latest announcement from O2.
It was announced this week by the network that it had revised one of its pay-as-you-go options for a limited time, which would cut the amount customers have to spend to qualify for extras.
Between now and October 31st - when the deadline for offer closes - subscribers to the Text & Web tariff will get unlimited web access and text messages when they top up by £15 or more.
This monthly amount is half the original £30 usually required to access the freebies and a spokesman for the operator said the move was due to the need for a simple option where the worry of low surfing credit is removed.
Jean-Michel Maltais, head of Pay & Go propositions at O2, said: "Our customers are connecting with people more and more through social networks and need constant access to online sites, so we've built Text & Web with them in mind."
The company has a range of handsets on pay-as-you-go that include the Samsung C3050, Nokia 2630 and of course the Apple iPhone 3G S.
