Both major tech companies have confirmed within hours of each other, that they will announce the dates for the release of their new products. Apple’s ‘Spring Loaded Event” was scheduled for the 20th April 2021 and Samsung’s “the most powerful Galaxy is coming” for the 28th April 2021.
Apple released a new AirTag, iPad Pro, iMac, Apple TV 4K, and a purple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.
The Apple TV 4K starts at $179 for the 32GB version and will include a Siri-compatible remote. Both the new iMac’s and iPad’s will include the M1 processor chip and the iPad’s will have 5G connectivity, a 12-megapixel camera, and will come in both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes. They will also support Thunderbolt and USB4 accessories and will start at $1199 for the 11-inch model in Australia. We can expect these to be available halfway through May. The new 24-inch display, white Bezel iMac’s will come in a range of 7 different colours at will start at $1899. These can be pre-booked from 30th April. The Airtag’s are water and dust resistant and will start at $49 each or you can buy 4 for $149 which will be available from the 30th of April.
We’ll see what’s in store at the virtual Samsung event tomorrow. The announcement will be made on 28th April and can be viewed live from 10.00 a.m. EDT/7.00 a.m. PDT on Samsung’s website.
