Apple and Samsung agree

It appears that Apple and Samsung have managed to put their differences to one side and have agreed to sit down and talk about various phone patents.

According to new court documents, the two companies are going to have a mediation session before they both have to head back to court in March this year.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook and Samsung's equivalent, Oh-Hyun Kwon, will meet together with each of their legal teams at a private session on February 19th. It is hoped these discussions could mean the pair make a settlement.

Over the past couple of years, Apple and Samsung have been in and out of court with each other with a number of patent disputes.

According to Reuters, the two firms met to talk on January 6th, while everyone was eagerly watching the CES 2014 in Las Vegas.

Although it looks like a step towards resolution, Apple and Samsung have been here before without anything being resolved. It appears as though we will have to wait until March to find out what the companies will do.
