Music fans who would love to be able to buy tracks as soon as they first hear them played on the radio – some time before the official release date – may find investing in an Apple iPhone is best for them.

Andy Bloxham, writing for the Daily Telegraph, explains music labels are preparing to make songs readily available in a bid to combat the problem of piracy.

It is thought piracy stems from a desire to learn more about tunes as soon as they first hit the airwaves, with many people frustrated at often having to wait several weeks for the release.

Some of the most common ways to investigate the latest songs is to use an iPhone to access apps such as Shazam and search online, notes Mr Bloxham.

Apple released the iPhone 4 – the newest incarnation of the flagship range – in June in the UK, US, Germany, France and Japan.
