The rise of the mobile phone has been something to behold, but despite so many of us using the devices almost constantly, we are still concerned about the etiquette associated with doing so.
That is according to the Enhanced Media Metrics Australia Product Insights reports, which revealed 97 per cent of Australians use mobile phones and the majority are worried about the etiquette of using their devices.
A huge 85 per cent of us said that talking loudly on a smartphone in public is rude and irritating, while 72 per cent believe that mobile calls can be intrusive.
Despite these concerns, 72 per cent of respondents said they would never leave home without their mobile phone and 66 per cent said they felt safer when they had their device with them.
As the mobile working trend has taken off in the nation, sending or receiving emails is the most popular activity named in the study.
