Mobile phone users on the hunt for a good deal may have their attention drawn to a new offer from Virgin Media.

The company is willing to provide consumers with a BlackBerry Curve 8520, including unlimited access to the internet and email services, for £12 a month.

Such a deal could tempt some people to trade-in their used phones and sign up to the Virgin Media scheme.

“BlackBerry is no longer just for business users and our exceptionally competitive deals can only help BlackBerry smartphones become an even bigger break-through device for consumers,” states the firm's director of mobile Jonathan Kini.

Despite the market-leading price, users can enjoy a further 15 per cent saving if they are a student with an NUS Extra card, while existing customers of Virgin Media will have access to exclusive benefits.

Earlier this week, Three announced it is to offer its customers the “great-value” BlackBerry Curve 9300.
