A number of British phone users may find they are tempted to trade-in their mobile after seeing what BlackBerry has to offer at a current convention in the US.
Research in Motion (RIM), which is behind the manufacturer's products, is displaying its latest tablet – the PlayBook – at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The conference got underway today (January 6th) and runs until Sunday, with the firm boasting its own booth in the South Hall.
Those who keep up with the event across the North Atlantic may like what they see and be tempted to sell their mobile in favour of the tablet in the coming weeks.
Commenting on the creation of the PlayBook, RIM's president and co-chief executive officer Mike Lazaridis says: “Our strategic decision to invest in groundbreaking performance, web fidelity and an open web-based development environment is resonating extremely well with customers and developers.”
Other tablet devices that may be near the top of consumers' wish lists include the Apple iPad and the Samsung Galaxy S Tab.
