Britons who would like to do their bit for charitable and worthy causes may find it easier if they sell mobile phones and invest in a new model.
That is because Orange has released an app entitled Millions of Volunteers that enables people to give what they can whenever they want.
According to the firm's research only 23 per cent of people were able to give up some of their own time last year, but 25 per cent said they would do so every day if it was possible via a mobile.
And now it is, thanks to the app that matches people and skills to volunteering opportunities around the country.
Tom Alexander, chief executive officer at Everything Everywhere, noted: “This landmark mobile volunteering project is a fantastic opportunity for us in our time pressured society to use mobile technology as a force for good.”
Everything Everywhere is the result of a merger between two of the UK's leading networks – Orange and T-Mobile.
