Takeaway pizza outlet Domino's has arguably shown just how valuable mobile phone customers can be to firms in the UK.
The food firm has reported a double-digit rise in sales – something it attributes at least in part to its app for the iPhone.
Development and release of the tool has enabled customers to order a meal via their handset, with the company reaping the benefits of such transactions.
With a third of orders now placed online – many of which come from a mobile – the importance of a strong phone presence may never have been stronger.
“We have continued to see excellent growth in e-commerce sales during the year, supported by the introduction of our iPhone ordering app and increased activity in the social media arena,” stated Domino's.
The Best Ever App awards are due to take place later this month, with titles such as Angry Birds in contention to win the prize.
