Australians may be delighted to learn that a phone security provider is expanding down under, which could make the ideal of recycling mobiles a more appealing one.
Lookout Mobile Security is carrying out an international expansion project that will see it ramp up operations not only in Australia but also in the UK and Canada.
It has agreed a tie-in with the network Telstra, whose customers the firm's solutions could help to protect.
The items on offer from Lookout Mobile Security offer barriers that aim to block hackers, phishing scams and spyware.
John Hering, chief executive officer and co-founder of the company, said: “We are providing a simple way for people to protect their most personal devices.”
With this in mind, Australians could recycle mobiles and switch to a new model that is adequately secured.
Figures from the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman's 2011 report recently showed Telstra was the only firm in the sector to experience a drop in customer complaints over the last year.
