As of September 30th, Facebook has 1.19 billion monthly users and nearly half of these people (48 per cent) are using their mobile phones to visit the site.
This is according to the social network's third quarterly report of 2013, which indicates that Facebook has had an 18 per cent membership increase year-on-year.
Mark Zuckerberg, founder of the website, said that Facebook had been evolving into a company that puts “mobile first” for nearly ten years. He said that there are more than 874 million people who chose to access the site with their phones, rather than on desktop computers.
This figure shows a massive 45 per cent increase in mobile users since the third quarter of 2012.
If you have been lagging behind in the technological revolution, it may be time for you to sell your old mobile phone and get yourself a fancy new smartphone that will let you join the millions of people who use the device to access the world's biggest social network.
