A number of people may decide to trade in their mobile phones ahead of going on foreign holidays this summer.
New research by Brocade has found that 95 per cent of vacationers now take at least one internet-enabled device – such as a smartphone – with them on their travels.
One-in-two Britons now also demand daily access to the web, even while they are abroad.
This could make it worth considering whether a current model is the ideal one for overseas trips – and if it is not, a trade is an option.
John McHugh, vice-president and chief marketing officer at the company, said: “The findings just go to show that in 2011, we are hugely connected, no matter what we are doing and we fully expect to be able to get online from anywhere in the world.”
Orange may be one operator it is worth switching to, as the company recently launched a special tariff for use in the European Union.
