That old rumour mill is busy working again, and after the hype that surrounded the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, this time the HTC One M8 Eye is in the spotlight.
With invites having been sent out by HTC for an event that has been called ‘Double Exposure’, which will take place on Wednesday October 8th in New York City, there have been many whisperings that suggest HTC’s latest device will include its best camera yet.
While the 4MP UltraPixel camera in the HTC One M8 wasn’t the most well received feature in the handset, it did actually perform better than the majority of cameras do in a low-light. HTC has seemingly learned the error of its ways and will be looking to create a 13MP Duo camera in its newest release, the HTC M8 Eye. The fact that the ‘One’ has been dropped from its moniker has been widely accepted to be a hint of this change in camera.
Other rumours that have been flying around about the HTC M8 Eye include that it will run on Android 4.4.4 and Sense 6.0. Display-wise, it is believed that we can expect a 5.2 inch full-HD display of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC.
HTC isn’t the only smartphone giant to be launching a new handset in October, as Sony is rumoured to be releasing its Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact the following day, on Thursday October 9th, also in New York City.
While both these new Sony handsets were actually launched at the IFA Trade Show in Berlin in September, it is hoped that October’s event will shed some light onto how much they will cost.
