It appears that one of the biggest fears for people is being without their mobile phone, or nomophobia as the condition is called.
Recent research conducted in Britain recently had suggested that 66 per cent of 1,000 people surveyed said they feared losing or being without their mobile phone.
However, according to further research from Vodafone, the signs are even more worrying as when they asked a group of consumers about the condition 70 per cent said they would forego alcohol so as to make sure they could always be with their mobile phones.
A further 63 per cent said they would go without chocolate, while 33 per cent said they would abstain from sex to ensure they wouldn't ever lose their phones.
Global chief executive of Vodafone Vittorio Colao told attendees at last week's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona: “I personally find it is a worry that people would really give up a good session of…chocolate, for their smartphone.”
