There's fierce competition between iOS and Android, with the two mobile phone operating systems leading the rest of the market.
However, one area that Apple seems to be outdoing its Android rival on is when it comes to software updates, which is echoed in the most recent figures since the release of iOS 7.
The Cupertino company has announced that its latest operating system is now on 74 per cent of all Apple devices, with 22 per cent still on iOS 6 and four per cent running earlier software from the firm.
It shows a significant jump from the numbers in October when iOS 7 was on just ten per cent on Apple's devices. However, this was hardly surprising as the software was only released in September.
This means that iOS 7 has set a new record as the software that has been the quickest to be adopted by Apple's device users.
