The Lumia 900, the latest Windows and Nokia collaboration, could see an increasing number of people looking to sell their mobile phones to obtain the exciting new device.
Microsoft's latest smartphone could once again put Windows Phone as a leading contender in the mobile phone operating system industry. Nokia lost its second-place in the ranking in 2009 due to increased competition from Android and Apple but this new handset could help tip the scales once more.
Senior analyst for wireless communications at IHS Wayne Lam said the Lumia 900 was one of the hottest products unveiled at the recent Consumer Electronics Show as the flashy features help make it competitive with other alternatives offered by Android.
“Combined with Nokia’s efforts to drive the Windows Phone ecosystem, the Lumia 900 and its successors will help Microsoft to reclaim its No. 2 ranking in smartphone operating system market share in 2015,” he added.
Figures released earlier this month showed that Nokia had managed to sell one million Lumia 800s in the fourth quarter of 2011.
