Recycling a mobile phone for money this winter may be one way to at least partially fund the purchase of a Nokia N8 device, on which consumers will be able to watch television on the go.
Virgin Media has confirmed it will make the facility available to customers who own the handset.
It is the first mobile release to come with an app known as Virgin Media Player, which makes it possible to watch a range of shows at the touch of a button from the company's vast library of episodes.
However, those with an N8 that does not have the feature pre-loaded need not worry, as it is available to users of the phone from the Ovi Store.
Jonathan Kini, Virgin Media's director of mobile, said: “With more and more consumers enjoying entertainment on the go, the combination of the Virgin Media Player service and the Nokia N8 provide a compelling way for consumers to keep up with their favourite shows.”
Nokia released the N8, which features a 12-megapixel camera, earlier this month.
