In a move which may persuade those involved in mobile recycling to consider one of the devices, the web company explained it would make a number of its options available as individual apps.
Compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch, as well as the BlackBerry Curve, Tour and Bold, the new widgets include the firm’s branded Finance, Fantasy Football and Flickr systems.
“It’s all part of our effort to help you stay connected,” the company explained.
With Yahoo! Finance, it was noted users could “stay on top of the market,” while the Fantasy Football app “ensures that when you’re away from your computer or TV, you’ll still be in the know”.
The company also announced recently that some of its online facilities would be made available in Arabic for the first time ever.
