Nokia has decided to release a “social” mobile phone aimed at a budget-end audience.
The new device takes on trends around the world with a dedicated Facebook button which in the Middle-east and Asia will link with Whatsapp. The Whatsapp button offers users the opportunity to use the service for free the entire time they own the phone.
It also sports a two mega-pixel camera, dual-sim slots and various apps for photo editing and data transfer.
The Nokia 210 is expected to retail at around AU$70 and will start shipping within the next few months.
Obviously the firm is using the social features as a selling point which may indicate that it is aiming the handset for a younger audience. At AU$70 it may be an ideal first phone for a young teenager that isn't breaking the bank but keeps up with the never-ending social interactions.
It appears to come in four colour options of pink, blue, yellow and white but an exact date of when it will hit Australia or whether it will be successful enough to make a dent in the market remains to be seen.
