The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 in white and black will be available to Orange customers from early April.
It is the first Android device to be revealed by the handset maker and the white version is exclusively available to Orange customers on certain pay-monthly plans.
Features of the new handset could convince many people to trade in a used mobile phone so they can get their hands on the Xperia X10.
Timescape allows users to manage Twitter, Facebook, emails, texts and photos in one place, while Mediascape enables them to get videos, music and photos from favourite artists and friends.
Commenting on the release, Orange UK’s direct of devices Francois Mahieu said: “The exclusive white Xperia X10 allows users to make the most from their social relationships, whether over a call or online and is a great addition to our ever expanding range of Android devices”.
Orange recently joined with HMV to launch a mobile games application that will be available on more than 1,000 Java-enabled handsets.
