Rumours are building amid apparent leaks about the LG Nexus 4 mobile phone, previously dubbed the Optimus G Nexus.
It seems that the South Korean manufacturer will be next to release a Google device, with claims that the handset will be unveiled on October 29th.
This is the same date that Microsoft is expected to release its Windows Phone 8 operating system.
There are rumours that the Nexus 4 will come with the next version of the Android platform – Jelly Bean 4.2.
Many customers in Australia are awaiting an upgrade to the latest 4.1 software, while Samsung Galaxy S3 owners in Korea and Poland have already been able to replace Ice Cream Sandwich with the new firmware.
The number in the model name is expected to refer to a four-inch screen, in the same way as the Nexus 7, which should be full-HD 1280 x 720 resolution.
Speculation is that the smartphone will be powered by a super-fast quad-core Snapdragon S4 chip, which may also feature on upcoming Windows 8 devices.
