Apps are increasingly becoming a reason to sell mobile phones, as consumers look to invest in a model that offers a wide range of the tools.
Nikki Moore, founder of girlgeekchic.com, explained that there are so many apps on the market it can be difficult to know where to start.
One of the advantages of such features is that they can be used to navigate unusual towns or locate facilities, from petrol stations to banks and restaurants.
“If you like music, you want to have the news, or you want to have games – there's thousand of apps available for those sort of things. I think apps are a real biggie,” explained Ms Moore.
She noted that apps can also keep children entertained, perhaps making them even more attractive to parents during the summer holiday.
Nokia Conversations recently detailed a host of weather apps – such as ForecaWeather – that can be used to judge conditions on a particular day.
