Research in Motion (RIM) has announced that BlackBerry 10 (BB10) launch events will take place on January 30th, where the operating system and two new mobile phones will be showcased.
Thorstein Heins introduced the press to a prototype version of the software at an event in September, and speculation surrounding compatible devices has been rife ever since.
Details, pictures and videos have been leaked regarding alleged BB10 smartphones, but the company has not yet confirmed any rumours surrounding the gadgets.
BB10 users will be able to access a “large catalogue of the leading applications”, much in the same way that Apple iPhone owners utilise the App Store and those with Android devices download tools from Google Play.
Mobile phone users who like to use their device to send messages, whether by SMS, email or some other method, will be able type more quickly and accurately thanks to BlackBerry Keyboard.
The BlackBerry Balance function may appeal to businesses, as it allows users to keep separate work and personal phone profiles.
