Samsung commenced rolling out the official Android 7.0 Nougat update for its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge this month.
The release of the update brings new and improved features to the South Korea-based consumer electronics giant's flagship Galaxy S range of smartphones.
Users of the devices will be able to get more out of their smartphones as a result of the update, as it enables faster speeds for downloading apps and system software updates.
Among the new features are the Quick Panel, which has a cleaner aesthetic that removes titles from icons in the first depth of the panel. Icons in the second depth are organised into groups of nine, which makes the display cleaner and the apps themselves easier to locate.
The integrated S Finder can be used to find whatever is needed on the smartphone or the web directly from the Quick Panel.
Notifications are also more streamlined as they can be grouped to display information more clearly, as well as supporting Direct Reply in the case of messages, which means opening the app itself is not necessary.
Multi Window support has been improved so the controller allows the window size to be more easily adjusted in split screen view.
A new pop-up window function supports up to five separate windows, as well as the two in the split-screen view, meaning users can access up to seven apps at the same time.
Performance Mode is a newly added feature designed with personalisation in mind. With it, users will be able to better tailor their smartphones to their specific requirements through one of four available modes.
These are Optimised mode, for extended battery life and improved speed, Game mode to prioritise functions such as Game Launcher and Game Tools, Entertainment to enhance sound and image quality and High Performance for the best display settings possible.
