Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 mobile phone already features a 5.5-inch screen, but rumours suggest that its successor will veer even closer to tablet territory.
The gadget could feature a 6.3-inch display, dwarfing the newly released Huawei Ascend Mate's 6.1-inch specification, according to the Korea Times.
Users might therefore be able to enjoy rented movies, downloaded apps and magazines from Google Play more comfortably.
The South Korean manufacturer unveiled an eight-core processor at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013, so there is also speculation that this impressive CPU will feature in the Note 2.
The Exynos 5 Octa could provide a faster and smoother performance, especially if it works alongside the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2 operating system.
Rumours are also circulating that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will sport the powerful processor alongside a larger screen – possibly five inches.
Many technology industry experts and gadget loving consumers are eagerly awaiting the company's new releases, after it scooped prestigious awards and achieved remarkable sales in 2012.
