Samsung has announced the latest in its series of Galaxy A smartphones – a new lineup comprising the 5.7-inch A7, 5.2-inch A5 and 4.7-inch A3 handsets.
These all feature design refinements over their respective predecessors that are intended to deliver powerful performance combined with convenience and elegant design.
A premium metal frame and 3D glass back characterises the Galaxy A – and this draws on Samsung's design heritage.
The device is more seamless than older models, with a particularly sleek camera and home key that make holding and using the mobile more comfortable.
Enhanced front and rear 16-megapixel cameras are now more stable with accurate autofocus, meaning the user will be able to take vibrant and clear photos and selfies even with low levels of lighting.
Taking selfies has been made easier, as a floating camera button means the screen can be touched anywhere to capture a high resolution selfie – and the display itself acts as a front flash.
Other aspects of simplified user interface on the camera include an easy swipe to quickly change modes on the fly, or add instant filters. Leverage modes such as Food Mode can optimise photos and enhance the colour of images depending on the subject being photographed.
Expanded memory on the Galaxy A means users are unlikely to run out of storage space to keep as many images as they wish – and this is expandable with microSD support up to 256GB.
A longer battery life is complemented with Fast Charge to ensure the device powers up in no time and users are able to stay on the move with the minimum of disruption. A reversible USB Type-C port keeps charging simple and also caters for easy connectivity with other devices such as laptops and traditional desktop computers.
The Always on Display means the time and calendar can be given a quick glance without the need to wake up the device, saving both time and battery power.
Four colour options are available for the Galaxy A range – Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud.
DJ Koh, president of mobile communications business for Samsung, said his company endeavours to offer its customers the very latest consumer technology in convenient packages.
“At Samsung, we are always trying to ensure our customers have the most advanced products on the market.
“The latest Galaxy A series is a testament to this. We integrated our unique approach to design as well as the features Galaxy customers have come to love to provide added performance without compromising on style.”
