From January 6th until the 9th 2015, some of the biggest names in technology will be heading over to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) exhibition.
Rumour has it that among the attendees next year will be South Korean company, Samsung, which will be apparently unveiling the brand new Galaxy S6.
This particular suggestion has come as a surprise to many given that Samsung typically makes its announcements a little bit later in the year between February and May. However, the rumour mill certainly is working overtime on this particular suggestion.
It comes from a report from a Korean online publication, called Chosun Biz, which has stated that the rumours originate from analysts at Mirae Asset Securities (MAS), a South Korean company. According to the report, they said that the Galaxy S6 will be uncovered between the January 6th and 9th 2015 – which just so happens to be the same dates as the highly coveted CES in Las Vegas.
What’s more is that MAS has predicted that Samsung will be aiming to sell approximately 45 million units of the Galaxy S6, of which 10 million units will be of the Edge version of the handset.
When it comes to stats, the rumours also suggest that the Galaxy S6 will come with an Exynos 7420 octa-core processor with a 5.5 inch QHD display, which is a fairly decent size. It is also believed to feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage – whether or not there will be a microSD slot as well is unknown. Camera-wise we may be taking our snaps next year with a 20 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front snapper for all those hoping to try out the selfie stick they find in their stocking this Christmas.
As always, these are all just rumours and Samsung itself hasn’t actually confirmed anything about the smartphone. However, there are only a few weeks left until CES 2015, so only time will tell.
