People who sell a mobile in order to move to the Sony Ericsson Xperia range of handsets will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of Ice Cream Sandwich.
Using its official Product Blog, the manufacturer has confirmed that its portfolio of Xperia devices will soon switch over to the new Android 4.0 operating system (OS), also known as Ice Cream Sandwich.
It is said that the first models to receive the upgrade will be the Xperia arc S, the Xperia ray and the Xperia neo V – all of which should be running on the platform by the end of March or early April.
Other phones from the range will then be changed to Ice Cream Sandwich over the months to follow.
However, the brand faces tough competition in Australia from Apple, with Dominic Sunnebo, global consumer insight director at Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, this week suggesting the US firm's iconic iPhone 4S is flying off the shelves in the country.
