Fans of the Simpsons may never have a greater incentive to sell their mobiles and switch to an Apple iPhone.
That is because TomTom has announced its latest app for the model will feature the voice of legendary character Homer Simpson.
Users who download the 1.7 incarnation of the sat nav service for iPhone will be able to drive to the dulcet tones of the animated figure.
TomTom has joined forces with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and Locutio Voice Technologies to make the tool a reality.
Alain Pakiry, senior vice-president for marketing at TomTom, said: “Homer Simpson is one of the most familiar and fondly recognised cartoon characters on the planet. So to have Homer become uniquely available for our TomTom App for iPhone is really thrilling.”
Apple Insider this week reported that the long-awaited white version of the iPhone 4 is set to be released in the US – meaning it could soon follow in the UK.
