Microsoft has been soaking up far less of the smartphone market share than rivals Apple and Google, but the firm is still innovating in the mobile space.
According to WPDownUnder, the new HTC Titan II 4G, which is powered by the Windows 7 operating system, will soon be released by Telstra.
The website claims to have seen a catalogue from Telstra – Let's Connect No #9 – showcasing the new device.
With the support of Telstra, Microsoft could get back in on the smartphone action – particularly as the new device will boast lightning-fast download speeds.
The Verge was less than complimentary to the new handset, which it didn't rate much above the latest incarnation of the Lumia.
“The Titan II's camera is certainly better than the Lumia's, but it's not superior enough to make the Titan II a more appealing option,” the website said.
However, Nokia has been suffering in recent years because of increased competition in the smartphone market.
