Available for £179.99, the Pulse will be the first in the UK to be available on such tariffs with the Google Android operating system on board, following pay monthly handsets like the HTC Hero and Magic.
Nicola Shenton, acting head of handset and device marketing at the network, said there had been a considerable level of interest in the model since it was first unveiled earlier this year.
“The high spec and pay-as-you-go price point makes it a really compelling offer, she explained, adding that it is now “the only Android phone that can be bought without a monthly contract.”
“We think it will be the must-have mobile Christmas gift this year,” the representative concluded.
The T-Mobile Pulse has a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a 3.2-megapixel camera, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth support and trackball navigation.
Some of the latest manufacturers to bring Android to their phones include Samsung and Motorola.
