An increasing number of people are looking towards tablets in favour of smartphones when they recycle their mobile phone, a recent survey has suggested.
Research conducted by online performance optimisation and analytics consultancy Logan Tod & Co suggested that an increasing number of people are using tablets, meaning marketing firms would be well advised to ensure their campaigns reach that platform too.
Chief executive of the firm Logan & Tod Co Matthew Tod said that many people are using tablets more than smartphones because of their primary functions as online shopping tools, which could see an added marketing push for them in the coming months.
“Our research demonstrates that tablets are now growing even faster than the mobile commerce market,” he added.
The last week of December saw the number of apps downloaded on items such as tablets reach one billion in a calendar week for the first time ever.
