Consumers who trade in their mobile phone and switch to a superior model are likely to find that they can take advantage of the best shopping opportunities.
These are typically found online – via sites that can be accessed on a top smartphone – and are attracting more customers than ever.
New research by Orange has found that 70 per cent of people aged between 18 and 22 will not shop online for the best deal, while the national average is 50 per cent.
The mobile network suggested that it is possible to make huge savings on products, particularly those in the technology and gadgets area.
Sylvain Thevenot, marketing director for Orange Broadband, said: “These survey results really do pay testament to the web which has made finding a great value deal a whole lot easier for UK consumers.”
A study by the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development recently found that take-up of mobile broadband around the world is on the up.
