People who trade-in a mobile and subsequently select a Nokia model as its replacement will be able to take advantage of the brand's Battery Monitor app.

Adam, writing the Nokia Conversations blog, explains the tool will allow people to gain more precise information on how long their power has left to run.

He notes those who forget to charge their phone up overnight and wake up to find they must leave for work with only one or two bars.

In such cases, an exact figure on how much time is available before the battery reaches zero can help people to prepare and prioritise where the charge can be best used.

“How long do five battery bars last you? Or two? It's difficult to tell and really depends on your mobile phone usage,” suggests Adam.

Among the devices to be released by Nokia in recent weeks are the N8 and C7, both of which could be ideal for running the app.
