Consumers who want to enjoy access to the latest offers and deals from a variety of marketers may find there is plenty to gain from trading in their mobiles and switching to the latest devices.
Such a tactic could be especially effective if O2 is their network of choice, as the company has boasted that it now has six million users of its O2 More technology.
O2 More gives businesses the chance to send messages to consumers via text and can make use of location-aware software so that incentives are ideal for individuals.
It is only six months since just two million people were using the system, so the opportunity to be one of a growing group may be appealing.
Shaun Gregory, managing director at O2 Media, said: “The biggest challenge for brands is to create a direct conversation with consumers, and drive engagement through relevancy. It's on this premise that O2 More was created.”
O2 recently announced it had launched a brand new app designed to act as an alarm call for rugby fans hoping to wake up in time for the World Cup matches in New Zealand.
