People who sell mobiles over the coming weeks and months are likely to be tempted by a white iPhone 4 as a replacement, after the device is released later today (April 28th).

Apple has confirmed it is finally making the handset available in white, following a significant delay and huge consumer demand.

The product is to go on sale via the manufacturer's official website and at retail outlets.

Philip Schiller, senior vice-president of worldwide product marketing at Apple, said: “The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it's beautiful. We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we've worked to get every detail right.”

As the world's most innovative mobile, the iPhone 4 is a popular choice with consumers, who benefit from video calling and high-quality images and text.

Apple released the original iPhone 4 in black in June last year and has rolled it out across the world.
