Consumers who trade in mobiles in a bid to keep up with the latest and most stylish models will soon be able to get their hands on a white iPhone 4.

That is because manufacturer Apple has started preparations for the launch of the long-awaited device, reported Apple Insider.

It has confirmed the arrival of the handset – which has been delayed since last July – is now imminent in the US market.

Retailers in the States are now receiving promotional material featuring the white iPhone 4, indicating it is set to go on sale, the website noted.

British users might be hoping its release across the North Atlantic signals its arrival in the UK is also not far away.

Indeed, it may be closer to its American launch than many people realise, with networks AT&T and Verizon set to put it on sale “within the next week”.

The iPhone 4 was released in the US, UK and three other countries last June but production problems caused a delay to the white version.
