BlackBerry has founded itself on delivering mobile phones that have a comparatively small screen with a full QWERTY keyboard alongside it, however reports suggest that the company could be considering other routes.
According to Boy Genius Report, apparent trusted sources have told the site that the Canadian manufacturer is planning to launch its biggest device so far, which will come sporting a high-quality, five-inch display.
In the report, the device, codenamed Aristo for now, “closely resembles a Samsung Galaxy S4”, with a much softer, curvier look that the BlackBerry Z10. The device is also expected to pack 2GB of RAM but very little else is known at this stage.
It's interesting to see the firm trying something a little different, and with the blatant comparison to Samsung's flagship, it could be BlackBerry's attempt to chip away at the market's dominant force.
