ZTE head of marketing strategy Lu Qian Hao posted an image of two mobile phones on Chinese Twitter equivalent Weibo seemingly showcasing a Windows Phone phablet currently in development.
There is speculation that the smartphone-come-tablets will run Windows Phone 8 (WP8), but the casings seem to be adorned with the older Microsoft operating system logo.
The devices will apparently have 5.9-inch displays, meaning users will have more real-estate for playing games and watching movies than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owner.
Allegedly, the screens will be full-HD quality. However, many technology lovers have expressed doubts, since Windows Phone currently does not support this high resolution.
However, the Chinese manufacturer may have been able to develop tweaks so that the display can reach 1920 by 1080 pixels. Microsoft could also be in the process of updating the software so that this is achievable.
It seems as though the handsets will come in black and white, conversely to the other WP8 Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X mobile phones which come in a range of bright colours.
