The carrier announced the release of a new downloadable software feature that can be applied to a number of its compatible devices and encourages the user to act in a more environmentally-friendly manner.
Working with a number of retailers including Method, Jamba Juice, Volcom, Roxy and Quiksilver, the Green Perks widget focuses on getting people to shop for more socially and environmentally-responsible products.
Ryan Butz, director of customer marketing at T Mobile, said: “Green Perks is our latest offering for customers who are concerned about managing and reducing their environmental impact.”
It was advised that the launch of the application was being timed to coincide with the US release of the Motorola W233 Renew.
This handset is partially built from recycled mobile phone parts including plastic bottles and is manufactured using carbon neutral processes.
