People currently without a mobile phone or significant funds to splash out on the latest iPhone 4 or Nokia device could turn to an Alcatel model as an affordable choice.

Charles Kloet, reviewing the Alcatel OT-708 for CNET UK, says it is a cheap and reliable handset that “isn’t bad for the price”.

That price is said to be roughly £80, which consumers could raise by selling any old mobiles they have in the house for cash with Mazuma.

Mr Kloet notes the mobile offers a touchscreen and an attractive design can be enjoyed for an especially low cost.

While it lacks some of the frills attached to its more illustrious rivals, the Alcatel OT-708 will do the job for a fraction of the expenditure.

Alcatel is one of three mobile names to make up TCT Mobile Limited, which says it aims to provide innovative designs and appealing brands all over the world.
