Mobile phones are providing small businesses a way of fighting back against the tough economic climate, according to a new study.
Published this week and carried out by independent researchers, the New Workplace survey found that 21 per cent of respondents were now able to work “without limits” thanks to portable technology.
One in ten people also agreed that having access to a handset that supports mobile email has helped their companies obtain new business.
The research was accompanied by the announcement that BT would boost its range of business-focussed handsets with the Samsung C6625.
A spokesman for the South Korean handset manufacturer said that by partnering BT, it would be able to address this demand for portable email solutions.
Mark Mitchinson, vice-president of Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, said: “BT’s relationship with more the one million businesses in the UK puts it at the heart of the small business community in the UK.”
Companies looking to upgrade their staff handsets could consider recycling mobile phones as a means to help pay for the latest models.
