The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a device that offers features which may have tempted people in the past, it has been advised.

In an article for Cnet this week, Frank Lewis said that although the model is not in the same league as some of its more expensive rivals, as it does the job for what it costs.

He explained that buyers – including those recycling mobile phones – may have previously looked in awe at the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic or Apple iPhone 3G S but without the cash needed to secure one of them.

However, at £140 on pay-as-you-go and £15 on some monthly contracts Mr Lewis said the 5530 addresses this issue by being one of the cheapest full touch-enabled devices around.

“The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is far from a perfect handset … But, given the phone‘s low price … we think the handset offers a good user experience for the money,” the review concluded.

Other music-focused devices on the market include the Sony Ericsson Walkman W595.
