In launching the Orange Vegas, the network has provided its customers with a budget touchscreen option, it has been argued.
Flora Graham writes in a piece for Cnet this week that the carrier has added to its range with a gadget that can be picked up for around £50 on pay-as-you-go – a price tag which could seem even cheaper for those recycling mobile phones.
Known in a number of other international markets as the X670 – and built by Chinese manufacture ZTE – she explains the device will not be to everyone’s tastes.
One reason given for this poor battery life and a clunky user interface – but Ms Graham adds there are some attractive features on board too, such as an FM radio and expandable memory card slot.
She concludes that the device is “the least expensive touchscreen phone currently available […] but you get what you pay for”.
