Mobile phone users expecting to be abroad this summer could take advantage of a new deal from network operator Vodafone.
Coming into force from June 15th, consumer and business customers with the company will see reduced roaming rates for both calls and data, as well as receiving text messages when allowances are about to run out.
Users will pay £1 for the first five megabytes of information in Europe, or £3 in the rest of the world, a deal which the company believes is the best in the UK for typical customers.
Football fans heading to the World Cup can also enjoy normal UK rates when calling their friends and family from South Africa using Vodafone Passport, which only requires a 75-pence connection fee per call.
Vodafone recently announced a new £10-a-month business plan that allows companies to synchronise their BlackBerry mobile phones with Microsoft Exchange and Windows Small Business Servers.
